In Evian, winter on a gentle slope in a dream setting
A la carte activities
The Evian Resort offers a multitude of winter activities: snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice diving, mountain biking on snow... And if this is really not your favorite playground, you can take advantage of the spas of the two hotels which offer treatments, programs over several days - slimming, detox, re-energy. But also indoor swimming pools, yoga and fitness classes… What else?
From €78 for snowshoeing, €120 for ski joëring, €150 for ice diving.
A cocooning atmosphere
After the great outdoors, comfort! At both the Royal and the Ermitage, afternoon tea is a special moment. The first rolls out its pastries signed Stéphane Arrète and made from products from the house vegetable garden - aromatic herbs, fruits, honey from the hives - and accompanies them with teas from the Nunschen house. At the Ermitage, it's a pancake party and mulled wine every day in a resolutely family atmosphere. In terms of gastronomy, we also like the cheese tastings in Abondance, a typical Haute-Savoie village, the brunch at the Ermitage and the starred restaurant at the Royal, Les Fresques.
From €1520 for five nights in a double room with breakfast. evianresort.com
Tracks for all levels
Staying in one of the two hotels of the Evian Resort, the Royal (photos) or the Ermitage, means having not one but three nearby resorts to enjoy the snow. For family descents, head for Bernex or Thollon-les-Mémises, barely fifteen minutes above the seaside resort. For more extreme skiing, treat yourself to a day in Avoriaz and Châtel in the Portes du Soleil area, forty-five minutes away. We like: the "ski-in ski-out" drop-off by the Evian Resort, which has its own ski-shop with state-of-the-art equipment, and the care of children from 4 years old with ski lessons (the activity leaders take care of everything).
€95 for half-day skiing in Bernex, €142 in Avoriaz with ski pass, ski equipment, insurance, return transfers.

Jazz for women
Culture, and more specifically music, is also one of the highlights of the Evian Resort. From February 12 to 14, the fifth edition of its Jazz à la Grange festival will pay tribute to great female voices. We will come and applaud the singers Noa, Isabel Sörling or Judi Jackson and the saxophonist Sophie Alour in a unique auditorium, the Grange au Lac, designed in 1976 by Antoine Riboud for the cellist Mstislav Rostropovitch. This pine and red cedar building offers exceptional acoustics.
